Better visibility on criminals

A data-driven approach can deal a significant blow to undermining crime, according to two professors and a security advisor. A project called “Weerbaar” tested the value of linking police and municipal data to detect crime. Pandora Intelligence, a company using artificial intelligence for crime control, was involved in this test.

The results showed that sharing data between organizations offers advantages in preventing and detecting undermining crime. However, there is still reluctance and lack of cooperation hindering broader implementation. A data-driven approach, though, can be valuable in identifying criminal activities and enhancing safety in municipalities.
